The Tico Times featured an article where Julee Payne, an woman from the US, shares her experience with ayahuasca in Costa Rica. Julee Payne suffers from a rare, painful condition known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) in her left foot and leg as a result of a minor accident three years ago. While this is the first time I read about ayahuasca being used for this specific purpose, the article makes an interesting read. It must however be noted that the intense psychological effects of ayahuasca should not be underestimated, and that proper precautions regarding diet and mindset (as far as possible) are of extreme importance before partaking in a ceremony.
